I get super excited on Tuesdays to see everyone’s Tuesday Shoesday post so I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I mean, I adore shoes – I look at them online all.the.time. – so why not share what I see…the good, the bad and unique.

It is awesomely bright and sunny  today with a  high is 67 degrees. This gorgeous weather is what lead me to these shoes. I want to put on a fun bright dress, these Christian Louboutin shoes and skip around town. Can y’all tell I am so ready for spring?

They’re simple and versatile. What do y’all think?

Meet Baby Hayes + what’s to come in February | Durham, NC | Newborn

Some of y’all already got a sneak peek of this adorable little man on my facebook page…For those that didn’t, please meet Harrison Hayes. Like all little ones, he has the most adorable fingers and toes. He is perfectly healthy and looks just like his daddy.

It’s hard to believe it will be February this week. There is lots I will be doing this month – one of which will be blogging more…lots more. Of course blogging my shoots, about wedding goodies, but what I am most excited about  blogging is FOOD. I love to eat…so it’s a good thing I love to cook! Disclaimer :: I am no Julia Child and I am not whipping up these recipes off the top of my head – but I sure do to enjoy finding a delish recipe, modifying it to our liking and calling myself a master chef ;)

So get ready, my first food post will be this Friday! Now I am pleased to introduce little man Harrison…

Leo is one of Katie and John’s sweet pups. He is already so protective of little brother, Harrison. Wherever Harrison goes…Leo follows. No doubt they will grow up best buds. Not photographed are Harrison’s other furry siblings :: 2 pups and 2 cats :)

Danielle + Matthew | Asheville, NC | Wedding

There is something about photographing high school sweethearts. I think it may be because it amazes us all when such young, innocent love can grow, mature and even change with couple. Danielle and Matthew have grown up together, gone through college and are now starting their forever together.

These two exchanged vows at the beautiful Crest Center and Pavilion in Asheville….their ceremony overlooked a breathtaking view of the NC mountains. The fabulous Kymm of Who’s the Fairest did it again – Danielle was simply radiant. Seriously. Go and see some of my favorites from Danielle’s bridal session HERE.
It was extremely cold as the sun started to set…such a sweet photo of Danielle warming her hands in between photos. Now this must be love!
How awesome is this cake? LOVE IT. Congratulations Danielle + Matthew! Thank you for having me there to capture your special moments!

Meet Baby Ellie | Cary, NC | Newborn

I feel very lucky and thankful that in 2011 so many families opened their homes up and invited me in to capture some of the most precious moments a family shares. I must say photographing, holding and playing with so many newborns and children is fun, refreshing and really puts life into perspective. As I have said a number time before, they truly are life’s everyday miracle. I absolutely loved this session with 4 day old baby Ellie.

I am such a dog lover, so it is no surprise I was thrilled to have Lily join in for a few family photos.

I met baby Ellie just after Thanksgiving so it was perfect timing to do a Christmas card + birth announcement in one…Is this not the cutest little Rudolf ever? Congratulations to the Dutta family on welcoming sweet Baby Ellie into this world!

Steven + Allie | Boone, NC | Wedding

When I think of Steven and Allie, I immediately think of laughter. These two laugh ALL.THE.TIME. and I love it. You may have already met them when I blogged their engagement session. Steven and Allie are absolutely perfect for each other and I’ll leave it  at that – if you missed my thoughts of them during their engagement session before, click here.

Their wedding took place in the mountains of NC in Boone. It was small, intimate, full love and lots of DIY (do-it-yourself) details. See the flower arrangement below? Allie’s super talented mom did that with an assortment of picked wild flowers and silk flowers. Gorgeous, right?

Allie made one seriously STUNNING bride.
These next couple of photos are super special. Not only are they Allie’s adorable grandparents – but her grandmother helped build that church when she was a child. So special that Steven and Allie were married there.
Probably the most interesting (and by interesting I mean AWESOME) cake toppers I have seen. Steven believes that everyone, in some way, resembles an animal. So as you can see here – Allie is the deer and Steven is the sloth. One of Steven’s brothers made these out of clay and then personally painted them – and not to forget their gorgeous (and delicious) cake was made my a family friend.
These two may also look a bit familiar – I was so lucky to have met Whitney and Matt at this wedding because I had the honor to photograph their maternity session this past fall.  Whitney at Matt welcomed baby Rhett into the world on Dec 20th, 2011. Much love to their growing family!
CONGRATULATIONS Steven + Allie! Here is to a fantastic 2012!!

Courtney + Matt | Raleigh, NC | Engaged

Last year as I started to develop my new brand, a huge part of the process was to really determine my ideal clients. It is important to me that my couples feel comfortable with me and I with them. I have truly been lucky to meet the people I have so far – my clients are awesome and I am so thankful for the friendships I have been able to create along the way. Courtney and I met briefly at another wedding I was photographing – and when I heard from her mom after Courtney got engaged I was so excited they contacted me. Having an authentic connection with my clients is critical to me doing my best work. It is 2012 and I am so looking forward to working with each and every one of my clients this year – It is going to be a FANTASTIC YEAR!

We started their engagement session at the NC State bell tower per Matt’s request (no arguments from me…GO PACK!). We had a fun afternoon as we walked around during their session – it was such a pretty day that everyone was out and about enjoying the weather…these two definitely had an audience everywhere we went, but no worries, as you can see below Courtney and Matt are naturals in front of the camera ;)

Probably one of my most favorite images from the session below. Let the countdown begin to Courtney + Matt’s May wedding!
