Lincoln | Richmond, VA | Newborn

I met Lincoln just as he was turning one week old. This little man surprised his mom and dad and made his debut a bit earlier than expected, I was very thankful that I was still in town to capture these moments.

Love his sweet knit hat.
Congratulations on your growing family! Cannot wait to document Lincoln growing up this year!

Foodie Friday :: Blueberry Breakfast Cake

A few weekends ago I had my family here for a visit and decided to cook breakfast in rather than go out to eat – While my go-to breakfast is usually waffles or pancakes with some bacon and fruit, I find it a bit hard to keep the waffles/pancakes from getting soggy if I’m cooking for more than 4 people. Nothing is as tasty as a waffle just as it’s coming out of the iron :)

I decided to make a classic breakfast – Scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and some sort of muffin. As I was browsing the internet, I ran across this interesting take on a blueberry muffin on Alexandra’s Kitchen – and I liked the idea that it was a breakfast cake. I made a single batch and it was perfect for 7 people (3 of which were men) – I also loaded mine up with a bit more blueberries than the recipe called for. The only thing I would have done differently is brown the top of the cake just a bit longer to get more of a golden color – otherwise, YUM!

NYC Bridal Market as a Buyer :: Part One

I had a fantastic documenting ladies of Hitched and Hitched Maids during NYC Bridal Market. To me it seems we’re always seeing the glitz and glamour of the market….and lets be honest, what girl doesn’t swoon over all those gorgeous gowns that float down the runways on those ever so beautiful models? I know I do! For this market though, I wanted some behind the scenes looks, I wanted to know what buyers really go through after the runway shows are all said and done. These ladies have one tough job – after seeing hundreds of stunning gowns they have to decide what will be selected for their boutique.

A huge thank you to Ritzy Bee blog for featuring a behind the scenes post today. Click here to see Part I of the feature and be sure to check back tomorrow for Part II.

Clara Jane | Richmond, VA | Newborn

I first met Courtney a couple months before her due date and clicked with her immediately. She is so kind, laid back and is a super talented pastry chef! After our meeting I knew I would have so much fun photographing their soon-to-be first little baby. After she was born, I was totally in love with her name – please meet Miss Clara Jane.
Not only is Courtney talented when it comes to baking – she and her hubby did most all the handy work in this nursery.  The refurbished dresser, the crib mobile, the framed owl cut-out to the changing pad cover…and so much more! I of course was smitten with the owl theme in the nursery :)
Clara Jane already has a protective older (and very furry) sister. Wherever Clara Jane goes, Abby goes. Dogs are the best.
LOVE the changing table fabric Courtney used. Congratulations on your growing family and I can’t wait to see how she grows! Already looking forward to her fall photo session!

Kailee + Adam | Raleigh, NC | Engaged

Kailee and Adam are getting married this coming August in downtown Raleigh so we decided to do their engagement session in a more natural environment. We kicked off the session with just the two of them and shortly after their adorable son, Mason, joined in. They sure do make one adorable family :)

We had some super thick fog hang around for the beginning of their session and I loved the way it looks in these photos. How sweet are these two?

I could not get enough of those dimples!
Congratulations Kailee and Adam! We are just around the corner from your wedding and I absolutely cannot wait!
