Courtney | Chapel Hill, NC | Bridals

Courtney married her best friend this past Saturday in Chapel Hill, NC. She wore a simple, elegant gown by Lela Rose and looked absolutely stunning. Take a peek into her bridal session from last month. Check back soon for moments from their big day!
On the day of her bridal session I decided to capture a few moments on film – and I just adore these next two film scans. So soft and romantic.
Courtney took a few images in a nearby field with a family heirloom chair and a blanket her grandmother had knitted. I loved the idea of incorporating sentimental items during her session – it was the perfect touch…and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for her shoot! Congratulations Courtney and Matt!

Summer Shoesday

Hope y’all had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend! It was a bit overcast yesterday morning here in VA so a girlfriend and I hit the mall for the first part of  the day and eventually found ourselves trying on some fabulous Tory Burch wedges (shhh, don’t tell our husbands!) – perfect timing for my Tuesday Shoesday post. How perfect are these sandal wedges these for summer?                                                                                                       Image Via

Caroline + Mike | Greenville, NC | Engaged

Meet my super adorable couple that will be getting married on New Year’s Eve. Seriously, it doesn’t get much better than ringing in the new year as a newly wed! Caroline and Mike met in undergrad while studying at East Carolina University, so it was only fitting we head on over to Greenville, NC and do their engagement session where their love began.  We were able to sneak into the ECU football stadium for a few fun photos. Love all the purple and the gorgeous evening light :)
Congratulations Caroline and Mike! I can’t wait to ring in 2013 with you both!!

Lauren | Durham, NC | Bridals

When it came time to choose  a location for  Lauren’s bridal portrait  she and her mom wanted to not only go somewhere beautiful but they wanted a place that had some meaning to the both of them. Lauren’s mom is a Duke Alum and used to bring Lauren for walks and photos in Duke Gardens when she was a little girl – Looking back on this, it was an easy choice for them to agree that Duke Gardens would be the perfect sentimental location for a fun afternoon! Lauren made one GORGEOUS bride.

Lauren and Steven are high school sweethearts and were married this past Saturday at The Pointe , a beautiful lake front venue in North Carolina. Here is a sneak peek of their first moments as  husband and wife. Congratulations, Lauren and Steven! Enjoy Mexico!

Karen + Brian | Engaged New York, New York

Karen and Brian met me bright and early for their New York City engagement session. As I’ve mentioned in my past New York City posts, I LOVE New York. Some people don’t like all the hustle and bustle. And it is true, everyone is always in a rush. The lifestyle is much different than down here in the south and I’ll be the first to admit I am not sure I could actually move to NYC, Chicago or LA, but I sure do get excited to visit! I have to be honest, I have never seen NYC at this time of day on a weekend. Now I’ve stayed up into the wee hours of the morning since their nightlife doesn’t end until 4 a.m. and shortly after that point you can bet I have found my bed…but this particular morning I was up and outdoors at 5 a.m. and it was perfect. We photographed along the Hudson River and ventured into the Meatpacking District. It was just us and the city…with the occasional runner passing by. It was perfect.
The one thing I loved the most about photographing these two is how comfortable they were with each other. Brian was so great at making Karen laugh and Karen would just snuggle up just perfectly by Brian’s side. They are truly a great pair!  Congratulations Karen and Brian!

Mo + Mike | Washington, DC | Married

Maureen (Mo) and Mike were married a couple months ago in Washington, DC and had a lovely reception at the Four Seasons in Georgetown. If you remember the highlights I shared from their engagement session you also probably remember me telling you these two laugh a lot. It was no different on their wedding day. Mo and Mike are two of the most genuine, kind-hearted, laid back people I have met. After hearing the toasts from the rehearsal dinner and reception I realized everyone felt this way about them. Family and friends spoke to the fact that both Mo and Mike hard working, fun, compassionate people and together make an unstoppable duo.

They had a classic, elegant wedding that truly celebrated their love for one another with all their closest family and friends. I so look forward to hearing about  Mo + Mike’s life adventures!
Love this overview shot Sarah captured from the above balcony. Needless to say, this group was so much fun to document! Each one of them was there to have a good time in celebrating Mo + Mike’s union, it felt like one big family! How awesome are these late night mini-sliders? Yum! Congratulations Mo + Mike! Thank you for allowing me to document your fantastic wedding day!
