Anna Grey + Spencer | Siler City, NC | Wedding

Over a year ago I got a call from Spencer to see if would attend a Sunday service at the church he was a youth minister to document his proposal to Anna Grey in front of the entire congregation. I couldn’t believe how sweet his story was and of course said yes! That was the first time I had met either of them and soon after I was lucky enough to say they booked me for their wedding day! I had a few email exchanges and phone chats with Anna Grey but I was so excited to spend some quality time with them at their Engagement Session a few months after their engagement.

Anna Grey and Spencer are such kind people whose faith is an important part of their everyday relationship. These two have known each other since the 8th grade now years later they’re happily married. The way I meet each of my couples is so different as is the relationship I have with them – so thank you Spencer for calling me last summer and allowing me to opportunity to meet you and Anna Grey – it’s truly been so wonderful getting to know you two and your families!

Anna Grey decided to do a first look with her father which I LOVED. A daddy-daughter relationship is something so special and now they have this special moment between the two of them to remember forever.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Andrews!!

Ashley | Maternity | Washington, DC

I spent an afternoon in DC with these three below…soon to be parents Kyle and Ashley…and of course soon to be big brother Sargent (aka : Sarge). Hands down one of my most favorite maternity sessions to date. A sweet (and adorably stylish) couple, a gorgeous day and a pup, there is not much more that I could have asked for.   Sarge was the best little pup during this shoot. He would join in when they’d call him and sit nearby in the shots we didn’t need him. He clearly loves his mom :)

GORGEOUS evening light and mama – these were some of the very last we took around Georgetown and both Ashley and I were so excited to see how they would come out. I’m in love. Congratulations Kyle and Ashley, what a lucky little man to have parents like you two!

Birdie | Richmond, VA | Lifestyle

Meet Birdie and her lovely mama, Courtney. A few weeks ago I meet up with these two to do a mini-session of Birdie at 10 months…and let me tell you, Birdie is at that fun age where she is on-the-go…non-stop. Courtney is the talented event planner and designer behind Merriment Events – so no wonder Birdie looked as cute as button for her photo session :)
I love these next two images…Courtney played some music on her iphone and Birdie immediately started dancing and snapping her fingers. I about died over her cuteness.  Birdie is as sweet as can be! I am sure Courtney has some fun planned for her little one’s upcoming first birthday next month!

Kristin | Southern Pines, NC | Bridals

I am so thankful to have met Kristin years ago while we were attending undergrad. Kristin is like family to us as she grew up next door to my husband since they were itty-bitty…and not to mention my mother-in-law is best friends with Kristin’s mom. Kristin is one of the sweetest, easy-going, big-hearted, southern girls I know. She married her boyfriend of over 7 years on September 8th on a gorgeous farm property. I was bummed that I couldn’t make the wedding, but am so thrilled she asked me to photograph her bridal portrait a few weeks before the big day. Here are a few of my favorites from our afternoon bridal session in Southern Pines.

So classic and crazy gorgeous! Congratulations to you my friend! Wishing you and Aaron lots of love and happiness – here is to forever with your best friend :)

Margo + Patrick | Louisburg, NC | Wedding + Press

I am so excited to share Margo + Patrick’s June wedding on the blog today! Their wedding was planned beautifully by the talented Erin of Erin McLean Events of Raleigh and was recently featured on the Southern Bride + Groom Blog. If you remember from when I blogged their Engagement Session from earlier this year I mentioned what a sweet, laid-back couple they are. When the two of them are together there is a feeling of love and calm that is contagious. I was amazed at how Patrick and Margo always remembered what was most important about their wedding day. They truly embraced the importance of celebrating their love with their family and closest friends. Their wedding was intimate and had touches of themselves throughout.

Their ceremony and reception took place at Margo’s childhood home in Louisburg, NC and the two were married with the help of Patrick’s grandfather leading the ceremony. Their day couldn’t have been more perfect.

How gorgeous are these florals by the English Garden
To make Margo + Patrick’s wedding story even sweeter, Patrick’s grandparents (photographed below) celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. Needless to say these two won the generations dance that evening :)

Congratulations Margo + Patrick!! I loved getting to know you both and your families! What a happy celebration this was!

And of course a huge high-five to all those vendors that made this wedding so perfect :)

This post is perfectly timed as this sweet couple is celebrating their 1 year wedding anniversary this week! Here are a few favorites from their mini-session on the coast of North Carolina. Just how adorable is their sweet pup, Cardigan (named after Cardigan Mountain in New Hampshire)…this was her first trip to the beach and she absolutely loved it!
