I am still here…

Hi Friends! Over the past few weeks I have received some emails, tweets and comments during shoots about why I haven’t updated my blog in a while…and today I realized it has almost been an entire month. ONE MONTH?! Where has the time gone? I can’t believe how quickly 2011 has gone by, August is right around the corner…which means summer is almost over (YIKES!).

So what have I been up to? Why have I been too busy to blog? In addition to shoots and a family summer vacation, I have been Making Things Happen with the fabulous Lara Casey, the talented Emily Ley and the wonderful Flosites team on building a new brand that truly represents me and how I want my clients to feel. This process has allowed me to focus in on what is important and what kind of experience I want each of my clients to have when working with me. I am lucky to have such wonderful clients and to have built a number of unique relationships….and while I have always strived to give my best, I knew that I needed to sit down and really map out that ultimate client experience I want for each of you. We’re taking it to the next level, folks. That is all for now about my new brand, I can’t wait for you to see it! I plan to launch within the next few short weeks (YAY!).

And what is a launch without….A GIVEAWAY!  Stay tuned, boys & girls!

But since my last post, I have been photographing beautiful couples like this one below…I will have lots to catch you up on….on the NEW blog!

Beth | Bridals | Raleigh, NC

Beth and Greg tied the knot at the beautiful Haywood Hall in Raleigh, NC which is where Beth also decided to do her bridal session. This beautiful historic home made the perfect setting. Jessica + Adam | Raleigh, NC | I do

Jessica and Adam had a sweet, intimate wedding starting with their ceremony at the church Jessica grew up in located in Clayton, NC. Afterwards, their reception was held at the The Mint, located in downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street – one of my favorite downtown streets in Raleigh. Jessica and Adam love food and are constantly trying new places to eat, so it was no surprise they picked such a delicious fine dining restaurant :) It was such a joy to be around these two on their wedding day, so much love was shared between them, their families and friends. Thank you for allowing us to be there to capture these moments on your wedding day!


LOVE this little detail. The ring she is wearing as her something blue was originally given to her mom by her father while they were dating. So sweet.

I just adored the backs of these bridesmaid dresses by  Melissa Sweet. So fun, romantic and feminine. And don’t you just love the colors in the bouquets? Gorgeous! 

The florist did an AMAZING job. Each table had a creative, beautiful flower arrangement. 

If you’re from Raleigh, you know when visiting downtown it is hard to stay away from the Krispy Kreme…where the doughnuts are made FRESH and HOT. So Jessica and Adam had the brilliant idea of having DOZENS of doughnuts delivered to them and their guests at the end of their wedding reception. Pretty perfect if you ask me.


Congratulations Jessica and Adam!! I hope you guys enjoyed Aruba!

Kelly + Clark | Charlotte, NC | Smitten

Happy June folks! I met up with Kelly and Clark at a beautiful park in Charlotte for their engagement session. These two were super adorable together – and despite the hot, hot temperatures that evening these two kept smiling and laughing.

Kelly and Clark first met at work a few years ago – cute little story. It is so evident that these two have a real connection – their love totally shines through in their photos…take a peek below at a few favorites :)

Once Kelly and Clark started dating they realized they both attended NC State and were Wolfpack fans..and as a fellow Wolfpacker, I loved their cute idea of a mixing in a few Wolfpack photos into their shoot :)

I had lots of fun with you both…I am getting so excited for your upcoming wedding in July!

Meghan | Chapel Hill, NC | Bridals

Meghan and Chris were married on Saturday on her grandmother’s farm in Sanford, NC. I can hardly wait to share some of the highlights from their big day!
