Please meet Erica and Matt. These two will be getting married next week at the always beautiful Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill! Words cannot express how excited I am for these two. Now while I have known them as “Matt and Erica” for a while now…I can hardly believe I have known Matt since we were in just 12 years old in MIDDLE SCHOOL! I must admit this part of life is so so fun…growing up with friends and seeing each other get married and start families brings me such joy!

Matt and Erica, here is to a wonderful ( and stress-free) last week before y’all make the promise of a forever-love :) So very excited for you and your families – and grateful I’ll be there to document your special day!

Come on, how adorable is Erica? One thing I noticed during this photo session…she has the most infectious laugh ever!

Newborn

With such a devastating tragedy that happened yesterday in Boston it’s important to take a step back, take a breath and really count our blessings. After reading story after story online, looking at photos of the event and then hearing a close friend of mine tell me she is mourning the loss of one of the victims, it just breaks my heart. Events like this make me feel so helpless as I just sit here and can only imagine what the victims, family and people of Boston are going through.

That is why when choosing which session to blog today I decided to post one that embraces love and pure innocence. This sweet couple tried for years to have a baby naturally but it took seeking medical help before they were able to have this little miracle :) Please meet Miss Lucy Emma.

Her nursery is all girl. Clean design, whites, pinks and of course ruffles. I would expect nothing less of her super stylish mama :) And that name…don’t you just love her name. Lucy Emma. Beautiful.

As I’ve said many times to family, friends and even have it on my website…I truly believe children are life’s everyday miracles. While I can only imagine what those suffering from yesterday’s attack are going though it’s important we remind ourselves that the vast majority are GOOD. The vast majority are KIND. The vast majority are HOPEFUL. The vast majority are FULL OF LOVE.

Engagement

Let me start this post off by letting you just stare at this first image of my sweet, sweet couple who will be getting married early this fall. It is my pleasure to introduce y’all to Leslie and Duncan…

I am so in love with that first image…and this entire session really. We did a sunrise session in Richmond Virginia at the groom’s brother’s home, which is also the same neighborhood they will be having their reception. Just behind this home is the golf course for The Country Club of Virginia. The Country Club area is absolutely gorgeous! I cannot wait to photograph these two and their wedding party! It was a chilly morning, but the beautiful, golden sunrise warms these images right up, don’t you think?
