Angela + Matt | Engaged | Richmond, VA

Happy November! With every month this year, it seems to have flown by faster and faster. I met with Angela and Matt earlier this summer for their engagement session and am so excited  to see them tie the knot tomorrow! As I type this and look out my window all I see  is damp trees and grey skies…but fast forward to tomorrow and they are predicting a beautiful fall day just in time for the celebration! Happy Friday, friends!

Lizzie + Matt | Purcellville, VA | Engaged

I met up with Lizzie and Matt at this sweet B&B called Silverbrook Farm  a couple months ago for their engagement session. It was one of those weeks where the forecast seemed to change by the hour! While it was a little chilly and grey, lucky for us, the rain did take enough of a break for their session, phew! Not to mention Lizzie and Matt were so laid back, fun and totally in love – which makes my job easy ;)

These two are getting married on Saturday at an Orchard in Pennsylvania…SO EXCITED! Just from hearing about the wedding I am so excited to see all the little details Lizzie has planned for their big day! Should be a lovely day! Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session at the farm. Let the count down begin!

Oh and p.s. they have the cutest little pup ever named Scooter. He is adorable.

This family of 3 clearly roots for the Phillies :)

Leslie + Duncan | Richmond, VA | Engaged

Let me start this post off by letting you just stare at this first image of my sweet, sweet couple who will be getting married early this fall. It is my pleasure to introduce y’all to Leslie and Duncan…
I am so in love with that first image…and this entire session really. We did a sunrise session in Richmond Virginia at the groom’s brother’s home, which is also the same neighborhood they will be having their reception. Just behind this home is the golf course for The Country Club of Virginia. The Country Club area is absolutely gorgeous! I cannot wait to photograph these two and their wedding party! It was a chilly morning, but the beautiful, golden sunrise warms these images right up, don’t you think?
Huge Congratulations to Leslie and Duncan! So very excited to document you’re big day!!

Amanda + Matt | Charlottesville, VA | Engaged

Charlottesville is one of the cutest towns in Virginia and is certainly so very pretty year round. Since these two met at UVA they decided it would be the perfect place to do their engagement session and have their wedding. They will be getting married at a beautiful vineyard later this year in September. We did a sunrise session and my goodness was it chilly (I believe it was about 25 degrees out!) but these two rocked it and of course they were okay in helping each other stay warm :)

Matt plays the guitar and sings – I thought it was just adorable that they brought it along for their photos. The images with the guitar are some of my favorites! Congratulations Amanda and Matt!! Looking forward to September!!

Casey + Andy | Ford, VA | Engaged

A family farm, an old vintage truck, a beautiful day closing out summer and some sparkly Kate Spades…shoots don’t get much better than that. When Casey and I were chatting about scheduling her engagement session, she knew exactly where she wanted to do it – her grandfather’s farm by the house he grew up in. I love it when I’m able to photograph such a special moment for a couple at a sentimental place. I had such a wonderful time with Casey, Andy and their sweet pup, and a huge thank you to the three of them for agreeing to such an early  morning shoot…but I’d say it was worth it as we got some gorgeous early sunshine!

Congratulations Casey and Andy…looking forward to documenting your big day out in Charlottesville next year!

Margo + Patrick | Louisburg, NC | Wedding + Press

I am so excited to share Margo + Patrick’s June wedding on the blog today! Their wedding was planned beautifully by the talented Erin of Erin McLean Events of Raleigh and was recently featured on the Southern Bride + Groom Blog. If you remember from when I blogged their Engagement Session from earlier this year I mentioned what a sweet, laid-back couple they are. When the two of them are together there is a feeling of love and calm that is contagious. I was amazed at how Patrick and Margo always remembered what was most important about their wedding day. They truly embraced the importance of celebrating their love with their family and closest friends. Their wedding was intimate and had touches of themselves throughout.

Their ceremony and reception took place at Margo’s childhood home in Louisburg, NC and the two were married with the help of Patrick’s grandfather leading the ceremony. Their day couldn’t have been more perfect.

How gorgeous are these florals by the English Garden
To make Margo + Patrick’s wedding story even sweeter, Patrick’s grandparents (photographed below) celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. Needless to say these two won the generations dance that evening :)

Congratulations Margo + Patrick!! I loved getting to know you both and your families! What a happy celebration this was!

And of course a huge high-five to all those vendors that made this wedding so perfect :)

Jenny + Kyle | Richmond, VA | Engaged

When I first chatted with Jenny it was over the phone and for almost an hour as we randomly found out of many little connections we had – like I am photographing a wedding of one of her colleagues from ECU and that her fiance actually lives in Richmond right down the road from me…it is such a small world! It’s not that often that I meet with just the groom, but since she lived up in Pennsylvania and he was here in Richmond it just made sense. I was bummed she wouldn’t be there for me to meet her, but I had fun meeting Kyle over a yummy lunch and hearing about the two of them and their wedding plans. Jenny is so sweet and graceful – and it’s so clear that Kyle adores her. We had the perfect early morning engagement session while Jenny was visiting Richmond earlier this summer. How adorable are these two?
Congratulations Kyle and Jenny! I am so excited to be headed up to Pennsylvania next June!

Sara + Garrett | Roanoke Rapids, NC | Engaged

I couldn’t ask for a better engagement session. We had GORGEOUS morning light, a pretty property with nice big trees, two chocolate labs (Bailey and Fletcher) and of course an adorable couple in love. Sara and Garrett each had their own chocolate lab and became smitten with each other at the dog park…perfect love story if you ask me :)

Sara and Garrett are getting married next spring in the Outer Banks, I’m so glad she brought these bikes down from the beach for their engagement session!
Congratulations Sara and Garrett!
